ha ha! you guys crack me up! =P Do the Brits open gifts on Christmas Eve like the Germans do? Boy, that messes with me!
And yeah, New Years is really different here in Germany, too. Everybody and their cousin lights off 5 million rockets right in their yards and off balconies (hello fire hazard!). Craziness. I actually celebrated with another GC alum, Sarah (Meisel) Price and her fam -they're stationed over here. Good times!
That sounds great, Juliette! Wow Germans are weird! ;) Thankfully the Brits open gifts on Christmas morning. The one weird thing is that kids get their presents in a bag by the foot of their bed, apparently, rather than under the tree. I think? Or maybe only some of them are in the bag. Anyway it's weird, but didn't affect us. Pete didn't make me put his presents in a bag at the foot of the bed. :)
so weird about the bag of gifts...huh. Like a giant stocking...sort of...?
Another thing weird here is that traditional Germans (my husband's family) put up their tree on the morning of Christmas Eve. Yeah, now THAT'S a point of contention in our house! =P Ah well, it's worth it!
